WESTOVER, MD, August 15, 2023 – Somerset County Public Schools (SCPS) recently announced changes to school administration teams for the coming 2023-2024 school year.
Somerset Intermediate School (SIS) is welcoming three new administrators; Principal, Dr. Terra Taylor, Assistant Principal, Mr. Brandon Austin, and Dean of Students, Mr. David Edwards.
Princess Anne Elementary School (PAES) welcomes back former Assistant Principal, Mrs. Christa Taylor, this year in a new role as Principal. PAES’ new Assistant Principal, Mrs. Bobbi Callis, will serve alongside Mrs. Taylor.
Woodson Elementary School’s (WES) administration team welcomed a new Assistant Principal, Ms. Faughn Blair, and administrators serving in an interim capacity in 2022 – 2023.
Mr. David Arnold, Interim Principal at Crisfield Academy & High School (CAHS) and Interim Assistant Principal at Washington Academy & High School (WAHS), Ms. Alexis Coleman, will fill the same roles in the coming school year in a permanent capacity.
SCPS will begin the school year on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, first welcoming the newest students to each school using a “staggered start” approach intended to allow new students to acclimate with fewer distractions on the first day of school. All students in the county will attend on the second day of school, Wednesday, September 6, 2023.
