Dear Somerset County Public Schools Families and Community,
As we continue to navigate a challenging budget cycle, I want to share important information regarding our Summer School programming. Due to limited resources, Summer School opportunities for 2025 will be available only for students who require credit recovery in essential courses necessary for graduation, students eligible for the Special Education Extended School Year (ESY) program, and students qualifying for the Early Childhood Transitional Program and the Migrant Education Program.
This year’s programming will focus solely on the most imperative content areas to ensure students stay on track to earn their diploma. Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer elective courses during the summer session.
School administrators and counselors will reach out directly to students and families who qualify for Summer School to provide details on enrollment and course offerings no later than the third week of May 2025. If you have any questions regarding eligibility, please contact your school counselor’s office.
We understand that Summer School provides valuable academic support, and while we regret the limitations this year, we remain committed to exploring future opportunities that best serve our students. Thank you for your understanding and partnership in supporting student success.
Sincerely,
Dr. Ava Tasker-Mitchell, Superintendent
Somerset County Public Schools
