Good evening Woodson Wave Families, this is Liz Berry with some messages for the upcoming week.  Congratulations to our Students of the Week: Daja Hammond and Gage Parks.  Daja makes sure her work is completed and helps to tidy up their classroom, as well as helps others with math.  Gage does an excellent job in the classroom and always follows the Woodson Way.  We are so proud of you both!  We would also like to congratulate our staff members of the week, our school nurses Mrs. Lisa Lawson and Ms. Jill Ross, and Ms. Ashley Crockett who is our CNA.  They are always willing to take care of all of our students and staff.  Thank you for all you do.

Thank you to all who have participated in our themed dress days to raise money for the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore.  We have raised $1,300.00 so far and are hoping to meet the $1,500.00 donation.  Tomorrow, students can dress in animal print, camo print, or dress like an animal for $1.00 or if they already paid the $5.00 to dress in theme for last week.

Tuesday, October 31st, students will be permitted to wear a costume as long as they do not wear masks or carry props. Students can also dress in casual as well as staff for free because it is the last day of the month.  We will also have a candy parade.  If you do not wish to have your child participate in the candy parade, please notify your child’s teacher.

There will be no after school choir on Tuesday, October 31st.  We will be sending students home on their normal transportation.

This Friday will be a Woodson Spirit Day for students, which means they can wear their Woodson shirt or House shirt with their uniform bottoms.  Spirit days are only on Fridays.

4th and 5th Grade students that were nominated for the Carson Scholarship Award received a letter with information and deadlines. If your child received a letter and you still have questions please contact our Guidance Counselor, Ms. Daniels.

After school tutoring begins this Wednesday, November 1st from 4:05 to 6:05. Ms. Daniels has contacted parents that submitted applications to inform you if your child has been waitlisted or will begin on November 1st. After school tutoring will be held every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Please send your child with a water bottle, so they can get water from the water coolers.  Please also send your child with a school appropriate sweater or crewneck sweatshirt for them to wear in class as the weather is getting cooler.  These items must be a solid uniform color and cannot have a logo.  Outer wear such as coats are not permitted to be worn in the classrooms.

When dropping off students in the morning, please remember to drop students off in the car line and not the bus loop.  We are still receiving buses in the car loop until 8:55 am and want to make sure our students who are getting off the bus are safe.  Also, everyone is asked to go through the car line if dropping your child off by car.

Thank you for taking the time to read this message.  We appreciate all of your continued support.
