Good afternoon Woodson Wave Families, this is Liz Berry with some updates for the coming week. Congratulations to our Staff Member of the Week, Mrs. Melinda Dowden. Mrs. Dowden truly cares for the students she works with and is always willing to lend a hand where needed. Thank you Mrs. Dowden for your dedication to our students and the meaningful relationships you have built with our staff. Congratulations to our students of the week, Adalynn Nasuro in 2nd grade and Quinn Evans in 5th grade. Adalynn is always sitting quietly in class and listening to instruction; being a positive role model. Quinn is also a role model and follows all expectations. Way to go Adalynn and Quinn!
Tomorrow, Monday, January 8th, we will have a casual day, specifically wearing the color pink as we stand in solidarity with the community and the family, who recently lost a child. Our hearts go out to the family at this time. To participate, students must pay $1.00 and staff $2.00 to dress down in casual attire. Please remember to follow the casual day guidelines.
Please send students to school with a water bottle to refill from our coolers. Also, as the weather is getting colder, please send your child with a school appropriate sweater or crewneck sweatshirt, with no logo and it must be in a uniform color.
If you are in need of a coat for your child, please contact our student services staff. We have had several coats donated for students in need this Winter.
Just a reminder there will be no school on Monday, January 15th in observance and honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Thank you for taking the time to read this message. Have a good evening.
