Good afternoon, Woodson Wave Families, this is Liz Berry with some updates for the week. Congratulations to our Staff Members of the Week Mrs. Corey Bivens, Mrs. Jen Carey, and Ms. Anita Harris. Mrs. Bivens always puts forth her best effort as she works to meet the needs of students across all grade levels. She is always on time, smiling, and initiating fun games and activities to reinforce math learning. Mrs. Carey is a wonderful teacher! She identifies the strengths of each of her students and builds her lessons to target those strengths as she helps students grow in other areas. Ms. Harris is a real team player at WES. She has single-handedly monitored a grade level in the cafeteria throughout the year. In addition, she has opened her tiny office to a colleague who needed a place to call home. The intervention provided by Ms. Harris is targeted and specific, meeting the needs of students across multiple grade levels. Great job, Ms. Harris!
Congratulations to our Students of the Week. Bella Marsh in Pre-K3 is always ready to help her friends in any situation. She loves learning and is always ready for the school day. Priest Love Cain in 2nd grade is always someone you can count on in the classroom. He participates in the class and engaged in learning. Nash Jones in 3rd grade is always respectful to his teachers and his classmates and is a great friend to others. Victoria Hyland in 4th grade always has a positive attitude towards learning. She embraces challenges and has a passion for learning. Way to go!!!
Attention 5th grade families!! Our teachers are still in need of photos for many of our students. Please be sure to send 3-4 photographs of your child from Pre-K through 5th grade to their homeroom teacher. We are trying to wrap up our slideshow for Wednesday's promotion and want to ensure all students are included. Thank you!
Monday, June 10th will Awards Ceremonies for 2nd grade at 1:30 pm and 1st grade at 2:30 pm. Please make sure to bring your driver’s license or government ID to run through our Navigate 360 system, to ensure safety for our students and staff. Awards Ceremonies and the 5th grade promotion ceremony will be located in the WES gymnasium.
On Tuesday, June 11th will be Awards Ceremonies for Mrs. Bennet’s class at 12:00 pm, 3rd grade at 1:30 pm and 4th grade at 2:30 pm.
On Wednesday, June 12th we will celebrate our Woodson Waves Seniors by holding our 5th grade Promotion Ceremony at 11:00 am.
Parents/Families, please take a look at our lost and found for any lost items, when you come out for our awards ceremonies. It is located in the hallway by the cafeteria.
This is the last weekly message for the school year. Thank you for reading them each week to stay on top of important information.
Looking ahead to next week, Monday, June 17th and Tuesday, June 18th will be free causal days for all students and staff. Monday and Tuesday will be early dismissal days for students. Dismissal will be at 12:30 pm each day. Tuesday, June 18th is the last day of the school year. Please make sure students have their bookbag or other tote-like bag daily to carry home items in.
