Good afternoon, Woodson Wave Families, this is Liz Berry with updates for the coming week. We would like to give a big shout out to our Custodial Staff, Mr. Koly Ward, Mr. George Schooldfield, Mr. Delontae Ward, and Mr. Josh Labo. They have done a great job preparing and cleaning our school for the return of our students and staff. We appreciate all of your hard work.
Again, thank you for a wonderful first week and it has been a pleasure to have our students return. We need our parents and guardians as partners. Please talk with our children about following the Woodson Way and how to think before they react to any given situation.
Over the last few days, we have had several students make inappropriate comments that are threatening in nature. These types of statements are not reflective of our Woodson School Community. Please review the Student Code of conduct that outlines the consequences for these types of statements specifically Tier 4.
We strive to provide a safe and caring environment for our students and staff. Please share with our children that it is ok to “say something”, if they see something that would compromise the safety of the students or staff at school. This is how we become a safer community by reporting. We are asking for your support to continue to make Woodson Elementary a safe learning environment for all.
”It Takes a Village” after school program in begins tomorrow, Monday, September 16th.
Our students in 4th grade will be taking a trip to the Deal Island Wetlands on Tuesday, September 17th.
This Friday, will be a Woodson Spirit Day, which means students will be able to wear a Woodson Elementary T-shirt or House shirt with uniform bottoms. Forms were sent home last week. If you need another form, please message your child’s teacher on Rooms.
Please make sure your child is dressed in appropriate uniform attire. Students will need to wear a collared shirt that can be yellow, gold, maroon, navy blue, baby blue, black, pink, purple, hunter green, orange, or white in color. Bottoms should be navy blue, black or khaki. Bottoms cannot be gray or maroon. Students also should wear uniform attire that is free of holes or rips.
Thank you for taking the time to read this message and have a great night!
