Good evening, Woodson Wave Families, this is Liz Berry with some updates for the coming week. Congratulations to our Staff Member of the Week, Ms. Sherri Allen. She is a phenomenal resource to students and families, who need extra support. She always reminds everyone to “stay encouraged”, when there are challenging times.
Congratulations to our Students of the Week, Jackson Hamilton in PreK-3 and Karter Fields in Kindergarten. Jackson is very patient with his peers and a friend to all. He always tries to do his best and doesn’t give up. Karter is being celebrated because he is a remarkable friend and writer. We are so proud of you both for following the Woodson Way!
Thank you to all of our students and families who came out for our annual Trunk or Treat event this past Thursday. We hope it was as much fun for you as well as it was for us. We are grateful to our staff who helped put on this educational event, as well as our community partners who came out to support us.
Tomorrow, Monday, October 21st, is a free casual day for any student who donated candy for the Trunk or Treat event. We appreciate all who donated candy for this fun event. Also, Mrs. Bennett’s class as well as PreK-4 will be taking a field trip to Akins Farm.
Thursday, October 24th, will be our Coffee and Curriculum sessions, where parents/guardians can come out to hear about the upcoming curriculum. We have PreK-3 at 9:00 am and PreK-4 at 10:00 am. Followed on Friday, October 25th by 1st grade at 9:00 am, Kindergarten at 10:00 am, and then 2nd grade at 1:45 pm. All Coffee & Curriculum events over these two days, will be located in the cafeteria. Please make sure to bring your driver’s license or government ID and that you check in in our front office, so your ID can be run through our Navigate 360 system to ensure safety for students and staff.
Looking ahead to next week, our guidance team will be sending home information on a themed dress week for Red Ribbon week for $1.00 per day. Students will be able to wear their costumes without masks or props or can dress in casual for free, on Halloween, which is next Thursday, October 31st. Thursday is free to dress in costume or casual, as it is the last day of the month.
Thank you for taking the time to read this message and have a good evening.
