Good evening, Woodson Wave Families, this is Liz Berry with some updates for the week.  Congratulations to our Staff Member of the Week, Mrs. Sarah Wilford.  She does anything she can to help students and coworkers. Ms. Wilford even takes time to create hands on resources for students. Ms. Wilford is TREMENDOUSLY appreciated here at WES.

Congratulations to our students of the Week Jeremy Hernandez-Chavez and Jemma Tyler.  Jeremy is a great role model for the class and is a hard worker. He is kind to all of his classmates and pays attention to the classroom learning every day. Way to go, Jeremy!  Jemma is such a big help to her peers and the classroom. She is a friend to all and has a smile on her face to bring joy to the classroom. Amazing job, Jemma!

Thursday, November 21st will be a casual fundraiser for Music.  If students would like to dress casual, they must pay $1.00 and staff must pay $2.00.  Please make sure your child follows the casual day guidelines.

This week is American Education Week and we welcome parents & guardians to visit and see all of the wonderful things that are happening in our classrooms.  Families can visit from the hours of 9:00 am through 3:00 pm.  Please make sure you check-in in the front office and you have your driver’s license or government ID to run through our Navigate 360 system.  If you do not have your ID, you will not be permitted to enter the building.

We have designated days for different grades and they are as follows; PreK3 and PreK4 will be Monday, November 18th, Tuesday the 19th, will be Kindergarten and 3rd Grade, 2nd Grade will be Wednesday the 20th with their exhibition at 10:00 am, 4th and 5th Grade will be Thursday the 21st, and finally 1st Grade will be on Friday, the 22nd, with their exhibition at 1:40 pm in the cafeteria.

If you have multiple children, we understand and you may visit each of their classes.  Please be mindful if you visit a classroom, please keep your phone on silent and if you need to take a call, please step out in the hall to take your call.  In addition, please be mindful that when you visit a classroom and you would like to set up a conference, please do so.  Please do not try to go up to the teacher and have a conference while they are trying to teach their class.

Please send your child to school with a water bottle, so they can refill them at our water coolers.  Also, as the weather is becoming slightly colder, please send your child with either a uniform sweater or crew neck sweatshirt without a logo.

Thank you for taking the time to read this message and have a good evening.
