Good evening, Woodson Wave Families, this is Liz Berry with some updates for the coming week. We hope everyone was able to enjoy a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving holiday. Congratulations to our Staff Member of the Week, Ms. Lisa Dize. Ms. Dize knows her students well and meets them where they are, while still challenging and holding them to high expectations. Ms. Dize is amazing and we are so glad she is a Woodson Wave!!!!
Kydonnis Harris and Zoe Parkinson in the 2nd grade are our Students of the Week. Don is a true friend and rockstar in 2nd grade. Way to go Kydonnis! Zoe is smart, kind, and always helpful. We are so proud of you both.
Tomorrow, Monday, December 2nd, we will kick off our annual Food Drive to benefit the Food Pantry at Woodson. For many years now Ms. Hoffman has been running this program. Please if able to, consider making a donation. Any student or staff member who brings in a non-perishable item or canned good to donate, will be able to dress in casual attire on Friday.
Wednesday, December 4th is picture retake day with Lifetouch. If students are having their pictures redone, they must be dressed in uniform attire.
We are getting into the Christmas Holiday Concert spirit, and in true fashion, Mrs. Korinne Jones has some fabulous shows lined up for our families. To kick off the season, the K, 1st and 2nd Grades will be performing on Wednesday, December 4th in the evening beginning at 6:00 pm at CAHS. Students may begin arriving at 5:30 pm in the cafeteria.
Our PreK-3 and PreK-4 program will be on Friday, December 6th at 2:00 in the WES Gymnasium.
3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade students will perform next week on December 11th beginning at 6:00 pm at CAHS. Again, students may begin arriving at 5:30 pm in the cafeteria.
Finally, to wrap up the merriment, our Band & Choir will perform Tuesday, December 17th beginning at 6:00 pm in the WES Gymnasium.
For the concerts students may dress in Sunday’s best or appropriate uniform attire. We look forward to spreading Christmas Cheer with all of you.
This Friday, December 6th, the 5th Grade students will be going on a field trip to see the Nutcracker. Friday will also be a casual day for any student who donates a non-perishable or canned good for our food drive.
