Good evening, Woodson Wave Families, this is Liz Berry with some updates for the week. Congratulations to our Staff Members of the Week, which are our phenomenal Assistant Principals, Ms. Faughn Blair and Mr. Jensen Long. Whatever the need big or small, Mr. Long and Ms. Blair, can do it all. Thank you both for being such a huge support to our students, staff, and parents! We are so appreciative of all that they do. Mrs. Berry would be lost without their help and they don’t get as much recognition that they truly deserve. Thank you both for going above and beyond!
Congratulations to our Star Students of the Week, Liam Bivens in 1st Grade and Easton Thomas in 2nd Grade. Liam is a model student, following the Woodson Way each day. He is always kind to his peers, a good friend to all. Easton is a great student who is always respectful and works hard. He enjoys learning and brings joy to the classroom learning. Way to go boys! We are very proud of you!
Wednesday, December 11th, we will have our 3rd-5th Grade Christmas concert at 6:00 pm that evening at CAHS. Students who are performing may gather in the cafeteria no earlier than 5:30 pm. We are looking forward to seeing what Mrs. Jones has put together to celebrate music through the holidays with our upper elementary students. We know the students have been working very hard and cannot wait to share their musical talent. We hope you can join us.
Friday, December 13th is a Woodson Spirit Day, where students can wear a Woodson shirt or House shirt, with uniform bottoms only. Friday is also our annual Holiday Bazaar, where we will have vendors, food, and a table for students to pick a gift from a table for free. We will have elves who will wrap gifts for the students. Students will be able to visit the bazaar with their class. Forms will be sent home this week, so parents can inform us of the people they give permission to come to the school and bring their student to the Bazaar. Thank you for filling these papers out as an extra layer of safety.
Our Christmas Break will be from December 23rd through January 3rd. School will resume on Monday, January 6th.
Please ensure that your child has a uniform approved sweater or sweatshirt, without a hood, as hoodies are not permitted to be worn in the classroom.
Thank you for taking the time to read this message and have a good evening.
