Good afternoon, Woodson Wave Families, this is Liz Berry with some updates for the coming week. Congratulations to our Staff Members of the Week, our wonderful Cafeteria Ladies. We have Ms. Cindy Gerald, Ms. Cindy. Kinder, Ms. Theresa Marshall, Mrs. Laurie Sterling, and Ms. Virginia Townsend. The cafeteria staff always has a smile on their face, while serving the students a nutritious and delicious meal.
Congratulations to our Students of the Week; Jazlyn Miles and Troy Whidbee, both in 2nd Grade. Jazlyn is a rockstar in 2nd Grade, keep up the good work. Troy is a fabulous 2nd Grader. He is a great friend and doing fabulous in 2nd Grade! Way to go Jazlyn and Troy!!! We are very proud of you!
This month, we are celebrating Black History Month and honor the contributions of African Americans throughout U.S. History. The National Theme of Black History Month for the 2025 year is “African Americans and Labor." The focus is centered around the hard work and contributions African Americans have made through their work and workplaces throughout history. We will be celebrating Black History Month throughout February at WES.
This week is National School Counselor’s Week. We are so grateful for our counseling team at WES, which is Mrs. Sarah Klabe, Mrs. Kelly Townsend, Mrs. Julian Berard, Mrs. Sherri Allen, and Ms. Stephanie Mowbray. They are so supportive of all of our students and show how much they care every day.
This Friday, February 7th, Quarter 2 Report Cards will be sent home. Please be on the lookout for them.
The Joe Corbi’s Music Fundraiser continues this week. Orders need to be placed by Tuesday, February 11th.
Next Friday, February 14th we will show our love for staff and students by having a free casual day for all.
If you would like to purchase a WES yearbook the cost is $15.00. If you choose to order at school, the orders need to be placed by April 14th. You can also order online through Lifetouch at ybpay.lifetouch.com, and these orders will need to be placed by April 20th.
