Today students at Princess Anne Elementary were part of Home Grown School Lunch Week, trying new foods like locally grown callalou and other fresh ingredients in a "Tropical Somerset Salad!" Fresh produce was supplied by Somerset County's Wood Duck Landing Farm and Tallawah Farms in SCPS new Farm-to-School partnership, bringing more fresh produce into school cafeterias.

Each fall, NASA Wallops Flight Facility’s (WFF) mentors post approximately 12 internships specifically for high school students in a diverse array of STEM fields for the summer session.
These internships are a phenomenal opportunity for students to experience the workforce during real-time project work supervised by WFF staff.
There is a $2,300.00 stipend to offset travel costs but the opportunity to begin a career at NASA is priceless!
Students must be 16 years of age and live within a 50-mile radius of Wallops to be considered.

Opening Meeting Day 2023-2024: today SCPS welcomed all staff to Washington High School to kick off the new school year!
The morning program included opening remarks from Superintendent, Dr. John Gaddis, Board Chairperson, Mr. Bill McInturff and Somerset Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Tania Cunningham-Raycrow.
Deputy Superintendent, Tom Davis served as the emcee and Tracie Bartemy, Director of Schools introduced the keynote speaker: veteran educator and national encourager of teachers, Mr. Gerry Brooks.
